Welcome to In the Shadow of the GTA Greenbelt

Welcome, In the Shadow of the GTA Greenbelt is a photography exhibit in the north wing of Sovereign House from July 17 to 28, 2010 by Bill Smith, Gary van Eijk and Les Lengyel.

All three photographers are members of the Oakville Camera Club and are very interested in documenting the environment around them.

The GTA Greenbelt is a region surrounding Toronto from the Niagara region to Durham Region in the east end. While protected by the Ontario Government, the Greenbelt is not immune to the pressures of development and aggregate mining. This exhibit, explores the beauty and fragility of this particular region around Greater Toronto.





The exhibit is located at Sovereign House, 7 West River St., Oakville, On

Gallery Hours Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday's from 1 PM to 4 PM.

Opening Day Saturday July 17, closing July 28, 2010.

  2. I was stumpted when I saw the title of the exhibition. I have never heard of the GTA Greenbelt so I looked it up.
    I couldn't find it.
    I do know there is an Ontario Greenbelt but I don't know anything about a GTA Greenbelt.
    Please let me know where this GTA Greenbelt is located so I can have some knowledge when I attend the exhibition.
